Sogang University is the only one university in Korea, founded by Catholic Jesuit. The University has a tendency to be ranked lower than its reputation in university evaluations, due to an absence of medical school and its small size, which is only one-third of enrollments compared with other schools. But regardless of the weakness, Sogang is generally regarded as one of top 4 schools in Korea and especially famous for its intensive academic system. According to the Ministry of Education in Korea, Sogang has been ranked on top for years as the school which gives the most ungenerous grades to students. The tough academic system becomes the main source to turn out many social leaders, such as Geunhye Park, the current president of Korea, Kitaek Hong, the president of Korea Development Bank.
